A bit about J & J

J & J Workshops are run by Jordanne Cliffe and Jodie Moyce. They pride themselves in providing a relaxed and supportive environment in which students can explore their creative side, whilst also tapping into a brand new skills base. Students leave the workshop with their own piece of silver jewellery that has been designed, crafted and finished by hand. The girls love seeing students surprise themselves with how professional their outcomes are.

“The people that I teach inspire me every day.”

Jordanne is based in Battersea, London, where she makes and sells her collections from her warehouse studio. Her simple yet elegant contemporary jewellery is sold in galleries and shops across the UK and online stores such as Not on the High Street. Jordanne also works as a Workshop Supervisor for the prison based Social enterprise charity Fine Cell Work, where she runs their textiles workshop and teaches for their ‘Open the Gate’ post-release programme. Fine Cell Work’s amazing post-release program allowed Jordanne to see first hand how immersive learning a new skill can be for people wellbeing. It really opened her up to think about new ways of teaching. If you book a London workshop you will typically be taught by Jordanne.

“I’ve found teaching workshops to be eye-opening in ways I really didn’t expect.”

Jodie runs J.M Jewellery from her home studio in Brighton. Her jewellery brand has an everyday simplicity and environmentally aware ethos at its heart. By carefully sourcing her materials & keeping any unnecessary added-extras to a minimum, Jodie does her best to limit the impact of production on the environment. Her Renewed Collection brings new life to antique silver coins, bringing them into a more modern context without disrupting the inherent beauty of each coin. Jodie typically runs her classes from Wickle, an independent store in the heart of Lewes. Having recently gone mobile with her equipment, she can now bring jewellery making classes to your office or home in Brighton or Lewes. See prices & services for more information.

I like elements from all of the classes that we teach! The stacking ring workshops have been really fun & I love seeing students realise that they can actually make a ring in two hours.” Jodie

Where you can find us

We currently work from studios & spaces in London & Brighton.

As Jordanne & Jodie live & work in different cities, it means that there are plenty of workshop locations to choose from! Learn more about our various locations below.

Our Spaces —
Lavender Hill, Battersea
Redlees Studios, Isleworth
Wickle store, Lewes - East Sussex

London Studios

Currently our most-used studio is in Jordanne’s live/work space in Lavender Hill, Battersea.

Jordanne lives in a wonderful converted warehouse space, with a studio equipped with everything that’s needed for a 2 hour or full-day Workshop.

There is enough room for groups of up to 10 people to be working at once, making this a great location for celebrations and getting together with friends.

Jordanne also makes use of a work space at Redlees Studios in Isleworth. This space allows students to see what it’s like to work around other artists & makers, and to use extra equipment such as rolling mills & presses in order to add different elements to their jewellery.

Brighton & Lewes

Jodie lives in Brighton & tends to hold Workshops at Wickle, an independent shop in Lewes, East Sussex.

Workshops are held in the cafe space in the evening, once the store is closed. Work spaces are set up acording to the size of the group & each student has everything that’s needed to make beautiful jewellery, including bench peg, steel block & all necessary tools.

This has proved a lovely space to work in so far - vibrant & full of character.

Jodie has also recently gone mobile with her equipment & offers one-to-one & small group visits in the Brighton & Lewes area. This allows students to be creative in their home environment.

Please enquire via the Contact page if you would like to get in touch about Workshops in the Brighton & Lewes area
